From 1989 to 1995 there existed an almost-quarterly newsletter for paper boat enthusiasts. While the masthead slogan of the Paper Boater changed frequently, it at one time proudly proclaimed the publication to be:
"The World's Leading Journal of Cellulose-Based Naval Architecture."
